The Project launched a series of seminars for the administrators of oblast health care authorities with the topic “Modern Methods of Health Care Management and a Possible Model of Sector Reform”. Mentioned seminars are held in order to inform health care management about possible ways of optimizing the organizational structure of health care provision system. It is expected, that during these seminars the representatives of 18 oblasts will obtain knowledge of the latest trends in health care systems development in the countries of the EU, the experience of reforms implementation in other oblasts of Ukraine and will be able to openly discuss the prospective of practical realization of the Project’s recommendations. The realization of recommendations, elaborated by the Project experts, will facilitate the amendment of corresponding documents and their further submission for the consideration of the MoH of Ukraine.

First of the three planned seminars took place on the 17th and 18th of February, 2009 in Boucha, Kyiv oblast, for the representatives of oblast health care departments of the Project pilot oblasts (Zhytomyr, Poltava, Kharkiv oblasts) and the oblasts, which already have positive experience in health care system reform (Khmelnytsk and Vinnytsya oblasts). The Director of Health Care Organization Department of the MoH, Ms. Myroslava Zhdanova, the Head of Legal Support Department of the MoH, Ms. Vladyslava Bronova, the Director of Economy and Financial Policy Department of the MoH, Mr. Oleg Levytskyi took part in the work of the seminar.
The Project experts stressed the importance of systematic approach in the implementation of the Project’s recommendations.

• Role of MOH and Oblast Healthcare Departments in healthcare reforming (Myroslava Zhdanova)
