Project launched the first of a series of Training the Trainers teaching sessions

19.03.2009

Following the approval on 19th February 2009 of the Methodology Manual for Developers of Medical Standards,  Clinical Guidelines and clinical Protocols (part 1) by the Ministry of Health and the Academy of Medical Sciences, (Prikaz No.102/18 от 19.02.09), the project launched the first of a series of Training the Trainers teaching sessions on the topic of the methodology for developing national standards, guidelines and local clinical/organisational protocols in line with modern European and international practice.  The project will next be assisting the MoH WG on Standards and Quality on reviewing and finalising Part 2 of the Manual, which will set out a suitable methodology for developing and implementing high quality local clinical protocols (clinical pathways).

The first two sessions took place at NMAPO on 10th and 11th March, led by  Elena Novichkova and Dr. Greta Ross, project international experts on Quality, and Dr. Alla Stepanenko, project local expert on Quality. The training was attended by participants from the MoH, the Institute of Strategic Research of the MoH, PharmCentre of the MoH, and chief specialists from different spheres of healthcare.

The project is actively engaged in supporting the MoH in reviewing the Ukrainian system of quality management within health facilities and systems of accreditation. The MoU between the MoH and QIS-SIGN Scotland, signed in September 2008, will enable the MoH to benefit from the support of QM professionals from the institute in Scotland over the coming months.
