Series of one-day seminars for representatives of local executive authorities and self-governing bodies of Dnipropetrovsk oblast held

EU Project “Support to secondary healthcare reform in Ukraine” facilitated three one-day seminars for representatives of local executive authorities and self-governing bodies on 12-13-14 August 2009 in Dnipropetrovsk at request of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. They dealt with the “Role of local executive authorities and self-governing bodies in an advanced reform of healthcare system in Ukraine”. The seminars were attended by representatives of Dnipropetrovsk public administration and oblast council (rada), heads of rayon and city councils (radas), leading persons of healthcare administrating and governing bodies, as well as financial departments of executive committees of local councils (radas) in Dnipropetrovsk oblast.

The following presentations have been delivered during the seminar sessions:

•    Advanced healthcare management methods in EU and possible reforming pattern in Ukraine (“Support to secondary healthcare reform in Ukraine”, EU Project team leader, Abovskaya O.)
•    Role of local public administrations and local self-governing bodies in support to healthcare services reform in Ukraine (Volodymyr Rudiy).
•    Role of local public administrations and local self-governing bodies in control over financial and economic activities of hospitals, as well as quality of healthcare services for population (Sergiy Dyachenko)
•    Healthcare reforming and current legal framework: opportunities and barriers (Anna Nechai)
•    Implementation of healthcare reforms in Ukraine: results, problems and prospects. (Volodymyr Rudiy)
• Experience in reforming healthcare facilities of Zolochyv and Blyznyuky rayons of Kharkiv oblast (Olexiy Gavva – head doctor of CE “Zolochyv CRH” and Larysa Polikova – head doctor of CE “Blyznyuky CRH”)
